Just unlocking Form Change for everyone would be a simple, if still messy getaround (although the idea of forcing players to use resources to form change a mon without any ingame notice/justification does not sit well with me). For many trainers, this is a big deal as the ability to obtain mythical pokemon that are elsewise unavailable to help complete Pokemon HOME is one of the many draws for this game. Whilst it is true that Hoopa-Confined can be transferred the ability to form change still (at least as of the last set of Elite Raids) appears to remains locked to those who have completed the Mischief Unbound research last year, meaning that any account that started since December of 2021, or any accounts who did not unlock/pay for the research still cannot move a Hoopa into Pokemon HOME. Whilst this is only a fairly minor concern in a sea of issues, it's fairly symbolic of the current state of the game. Maybe we'll get Hoopa Movie 2: Electric Boogaloo with the Gen 5 legends duking it out with the Gen 7 legends in a battle royale, I dunno.It's almost the end of 2022, and Niantic still hasn't made Hoopa-Unbound transferrable to HOME, over a year after it first released with the Mischief Unbound research.
The Gen 7 stuff can be justified due to coming from the previous generation (i.e. Then there's the Unova box legendaries, the Swords of Justice, Alola box legendaries, Marshadow, Zeraora, Meltan and Melmetal. Maybe we'll get a Jirachi movie after the Coco movie. Mew and Celebi had reasonable excuses to be in the game as I mentioned earlier, so Jirachi really is the odd one out. Also, among the 6 pixies (mythicals with 100 in every stat), only Mew, Celebi and Jirachi are in the base game Shaymin, Manaphy and Victini are absent. Jirachi is probably the weirdest pick here since it's the only Gen 3 legendary/mythical in the base game. There's also going to be a new Mythical Pokemon featured in the movie, but they probably left it out of the base game to avoid leaks.
We'll probably get a Celebi event to coincide with that, too. So yeah, both of these Pokemon being in the base game's data makes sense.Ĭelebi will most likely appear in the next movie (Coco) since the shrine that appeared in the original 4ever movie can also be seen in the trailer for the new movie. Mew and Mewtwo are basically a duo, so if you're gonna have one, might as well have the other too. Maybe we'll get a Mewtwo event in SWSH to coincide with that? Mew is obtainable via the Pokeball Plus, and Gou's main goal in the new anime series is to catch Mew. The remake of the Mewtwo movie came out in Japan somewhat recently, and is coming to Netflix soon if I'm not mistaken.
